Before you dive in, you should know that Under the Welcome Mat is not your typical real estate newsletter…

This isn’t about spamming your inbox with fads or fluff. You won’t find any humble brags about the houses we’re helping our clients buy and sell. There are no cookie recipes or sports schedules inside and if you’re looking for reminders to set your clocks back I’m sorry to say this probably won’t be much help.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE helping people buy and sell homes. I also LOVE cookies, football, and extra sleep but… I started Under the Welcome Mat for a different purpose.

Here’s a bit more about what you can expect:

What Is It?

Under the Welcome Mat is a free monthly newsletter of insights, candid perspectives, and timely information related to owning and investing in residential property.

It’s also a website where we post the content we create so you can easily find it later.

Who Is It For?

For anyone curious about what makes residential real estate tick, for anyone who wants a better chance at avoiding the “I wish I had known that sooner” feeling, and for anyone who simply wants to become a better custodian of their own real estate.

The content is focused primarily on issues and information relevant to Colorado homeowners, although much of it is broadly applicable regardless of your geography.

Why is it called Under the Welcome Mat?

Because when you leave a key for someone under your welcome mat, you trust them enough to invite them in to your world.

In this case, the “keys” I’m leaving for you under this welcome mat will be keys to success, to prosperity, to reducing risk, and to taking advantage of opportunity as a homeowner and real estate investor.

Come on in and make yourself at home.

Who Created It and Why?

I did! I’m Scott Sammons – Realtor®, brokerage owner, real estate educator, mentor, coach, dad, husband, Colorado native, and fly fishing enthusiast.

One of the greatest joys I have in life is being able to take what I’ve learned, often the hard way, and share it with someone who it can help. I also love the challenge of turning something confusing into something more easily understood.

At best though, these conversations only happen between a few of us at a time, usually as the need arises, or in some cases, after it’s too late to be of greatest value.

UtWM is my attempt to be a bit more proactive about sharing what I’ve learned, and continue to learn, with a larger audience. Think of it like stocking your knowledge pantry. You may not use this stuff every day, but you’ll be glad you have it when you need it.

Can You Ask Questions or Suggest Topics?

Absolutely! The foundation of UtWM is an ongoing conversation between you and I. If there is something you would like more information about, please let me know and I’ll do my best to work it in to an upcoming issue.

See you inside!
